At the heart of Pamlico Sound lies a deep respect for the iconic BB2 and BB3 pickups. We’ve taken that vintage DNA and refined it — using carefully hand wound coils and select magnets to create a dynamic response that breathes with every note.
   
 •    Neck Pickup: Wound between 7.8k and 8.1k, the neck is wound for warmth, sweetness, and expressive nuance, everything you expect from a beautiful spring along the Pamlico Sound of North Carolina. Using select Alnico II magnets, it delivers the smooth, woody tone that defined the late ’50s—perfect for creamy leads and soulful cleans.

    •    Bridge Pickup: Wound between 8.5k and 9.0k with Alnico V magnets, the bridge offers a hotter output with punch and bite, much like the summers of the beautiful Outer Banks waters— this pickup is ideal for pushing the front end of your amp while retaining vintage articulation and harmonic complexity.

Both pickups feature 50mm pole spacing and are non wax-potted for that raw, open, and slightly microphonic character that lets your tone breathe—just like the revered originals.
