Cutlass
The Cutlass – Bridge Pickup
The Cutlass is built for players who want unapologetic power and attack. Wound to approximately 23k DCR, this pickup delivers a high-output voice designed for heavy gain, aggressive riffing, and tight modern tones. It’s bold, forceful, and unapologetically raw—cutting through a mix the way a sharpened blade cuts through open air.
Inspired by the cutlass sword carried by sailors and privateers along the North Carolina coast, this pickup was designed to strike hard and fast. The tone is sharp and immediate, with a focused low end, aggressive low-mids, and a biting top that slices through dense distortion. Palm-muted riffs hit with extreme authority, while lead lines carry the kind of presence that refuses to stay buried in the mix.
Along the waters of the Outer Banks and Core Sound, a cutlass was never meant to be subtle, it was a tool built for decisive action. The same philosophy guides this pickup. It’s engineered for players who want a tone that feels powerful, direct, and fearless.
The Cutlass thrives under high gain, delivering the kind of tight response and crushing weight that modern rock and metal demand. Every note hits with intent, every chord lands with impact, and every harmonic cuts like steel in a sea wind.
